Despite the occurrence of global pandemic, Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ ( 4th Watch ) Gifu Locale celebrated its 9th Church Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service last July 12,2020 with their theme, “In all Circumstances, giving Utmost Gratitude to the Most High” from I Thessalonians 5:18.
Observing proper social distancing, Gifu locale still reached its magnificent number of attendees. The program was commenced by the Master of Ceremony, Pastor Sheila Valencia, Head Pastor of Gifu Locale, followed by the Praise and Worship headed by Sis. Ria Tokuda. The Opening Prayer was led by Brother Albert Barba, while the reading of the Holy Scriptures was led by Brother Jun Banogon.
Voices from the Cadets Department filled the service hall with their song of praise entitled “Arigatou Kamisama” (Thank you Lord). Right after was a warm Welcome Remarks coming from Pastor Sheila Valencia. Thereafter, a quartet song of praise was rendered by selected brethren entitled “ Way Maker”.
During the Offertory Message, Gifu Locale Minister Brother Johnfer Valencia delivered the words of thanksgiving written in Luke 6:38. He emphasized that we, as believers, should give to the Lord accordingly – which is giving with the right attitude and giving Him our offering of good measure, pressed down and running over.
Continuing with the program, another song of praise was lifted up unto God by Gifu Locale Choir entitled “Aionia Agapi” (Everlasting Love). To prepare the congregation, Brother Johnfer Valencia introduced the keynote speaker who was none othan than Presbyter Nimfa Cruz Barrera, Sub-Coordinator of Japan District and Head Pastor of Nagoya Locale.
In her message, Presbyter Nimfa strengthened the attendees by encouraging them to always look at the situation as an encouragement and not as a source of discouragement. She pointed out that it is always right to give thanks and offer God our highest praises for His blessings are countless benefits unto us despite the troubles in the world.
The assembly of God was again revived and empowered by the truth attesting to the clemency of God. As the event ended , everyone brought with them high hopes and anticipation of God’s continued grace and deliverance. To God be all the Glory!
