On July 14th, heavy rains poured in most part of Japan but it did not the hinder the faithful servants of God from celebrating the foundation of His church in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Several brethren from different parts of the Kanagawa area, Japan’s 2nd most populated prefecture, gathered to give thanks to the Lord for His magnificent work in the Church.

The Master of Ceremonies, Sis. Ivy Vencer, joyfully commenced the celebration while Sis. Archie Subido with the Kawasaki Praise and Worship team led the congregation in glorifying the name of the Lord with songs and praises. Bro.Bhong Subido, a Church Elder emotionally led the Opening Prayer followed by a warm welcome by Ptr. Jenny Balawang, Kawasaki Local Minister. A beautiful Song of Praise was rendered unto the Lord by Bro. Albert Vencer. The Reading of the Scriptures was then led by Bro. Roger Lucero and the Announcements by Sis. Berns Maeda. The Kawasaki Choir lifted the name of the Lord with a Song of Praise entitled, “Shout Hosanna.”

The Offertory Message was conveyed by Ptr. Vench Balawang, Kawasaki Local Minister. He encouraged the brethren to generously give to the Lord inspired by the Macedonian churches in 2 Corinthians 8:1-5. He further shared that they were able to give abundantly because they walked by faith not by sight and their great love for God compelled them to give beyond their ability. Another soulful Song of Adoration by the Kawasaki Choir glorified the name of the Lord followed by a warm video greeting from the Goodman of the House, Arsenio T. Ferriol.

The event’s keynote Speaker was Ptr. Jojo Cruz, Hamura Local Minister. He dwelt on the theme, “Victoriously Celebrating God’s Glorious Works.”In his message, he shared that we have to experience God’s mighty work and living in sadness and defeat would make our existence meaningless. He uttered, “Ang tagumpay ay wala sa ating sarili, ito’y kaloob ng Diyos. ”One of God’s mighty work is the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. He further stressed that money cannot save us and no amount of fame will lead us to victory. During the altar call, a number of guests accepted the Lord as their savior and decided to be baptized on the same day.

The brethren then gladly gave their Thanksgiving Offering unto the Lord.

After the worship, a Gospel Concert and Raffle Draw was held featuring the talents of the Kawasaki Youth, Saitama Youth Dancers and other guest performers.

The congregation was truly blessed by the words of God and went home victorious in their faith and service unto the Lord. To God be the glory!
